Congested newborn help?

my daughter is 3 weeks old and has had bad congestion. I called docs office and they said try a cool mist vaporizer. It has not helped much and i tried elevating her head and it helps a little but she still seems like she is having trouble breathing out of her nose. We have an appointment teusday but if anyone knows what could help before then I would appreciate it, she is not getting much sleep and I know it must be aggrevating to her.
