What is wrong with gay people being allowed to marry?

(this really only involves California's laws sorry :D) So, I'm too young too vote but I was looking over the propositions, especially prop 8. I don't get why you would vote yes on prop 8--aren't gays people too? And don't use religion as an excuse. Religion should have nothing to do with the rights of a person. "Liberty, justice, freedom for all..." something along those lines. Who cares about "traditional" marriage? Was it traditional to allow women to vote, or blacks to have rights? Was it traditional for 13 colonists to defeat a whole British army? All I'm saying is, we shouldn't say no to a person's rights just because of their ual orientation. It's un-American and just not right.
