You will want to look at it under a microscope. There's the heart and arrow shape test that you should ask the jeweler about. That's when you're looking at the diamond under one of their scopes, you can see hearts and arrows or something like that. That test shows how clean the cut of the stone is. Clarity also has to do with the color of the diamond. Some diamonds are more yellowish in hue than others. You will probably want a stone that is more clear than yellow.
