Carnivorous plant water?

These plants are all tropical so I think they need to stay inside aka in a controlled environment. Venus fly traps are awesome, sun dews, pitcher plant, all great plants! I believe chlorine is the reason they can't have just any water, something we used to do for our carnivorous plants was at night we would fill a pitcher with water and let it sit for a day or 2, this allows the chlorine to evaporate. Now I don't know if it is enough, but I also used this method for my frog and snail and they were fine. Have fun :-)
